| Kitzbühel, home to the
famous Hahnenkamm World Cup downhill race, is one of Europe’s most
attractive and popular ski resorts. Its traditional Tyrolean
atmosphere with delicately painted houses and cobbled streets lies
at the heart of Kitzbühel’s appeal, not to mention its extensive ski
area which offers a variety of runs for all levels of skier - ideal
for groups of mixed standards! The Kitzbühel mountain lies in the shelter of the surrounding mountains and has many north facing slopes, so it enjoys good snow conditions, excellent powder and beautiful skiing both above and below the tree line. The extensive skiing can be accessed from villages in the valleys along two sides of the mountain, namely Kirchberg, Aurach, Ashau, Jochberg and Pass Thurn, and skiers of all standards can find plenty of pistes to suit their abilities. The Kitzbühler Horn occupies one side of the valley and offers south facing slopes, most of which are of an easy to intermediate standard. The Ski Safari, which extends from Kirchberg to Pass Thurn, is a tour which can be accomplished by intermediate skiers and is a not-to-be-missed experience. |
