The Arlberg is one of
the greatest ski areas in the world, and comprises St Anton, St
Christhoph, Stuben, Lech and Zürs among others. A vast network of
lifts interconnects and features such famous runs as The Kanderhar. But it is the Valluga for which St Anton is rightly famous, and this magnificent mountain gives a vast variety of skiing, both challenging and relatively easy. The sufficiency of snow is something one never need worry about in St Anton. Apart from its great height, it is an area of high precipitation and one need only consider that the Arlberg pass on the other side of St Anton is impassable a lot of the winter, and thus the Arlberg tunnel was built. We stay at the Pension Kristall at Flirsh where Rosemarie Jehle makes us very comfortable and provides mainly 2 or 3 bedded accommodation with facilities. In the evenings we dine out at a very good restaurant next door. |
