St Johann is situated in
a scenically extremely beautiful location in a wide sunny valley at
the foot of the Wilder Kaiser, which also dominates the sky line at
neighbouring Kitzbühel. The skiing area of St Johann is in fact on
the North and West facing slopes of the Kitzbühlerhorn, and the
cross country skiing tracks do in fact connect with those of
Kitzbühel. St Johann is a typically delightful middle-sized Tyrolean town and has good entertainment in the evenings including Tyrolean evenings, discos and cinema. Other facilities include a swimming pool, tobogganing, ice rink, sleigh rides and 50 miles of cross country skiing. And just around the corner of course is Kitzbühel, with all the great venues that can be enjoyed there. Our accommodation is the Gasthof Hauser which is a delightful Tyrolean Gasthof run by its owner, with all private facilities and excellent food. One of the big pluses of St Johann is that after only a few days beginners should be able to ski from the very top to the bottom of the mountain with all the pleasure and satisfaction this brings. |
