On a sunny shelf high above the Romanche
valley is the modern French resort of Les Deux Alpes. Les Deux Alpes
has an almost perfect setting for a ski resort, being at an altitude
of 1650m with the skiing extending as high as 3568m way up on the
Glacier du Mont De Lans, and a choice of 55 ski lifts, where they
ski right through the year.
Les Deux Alpes was one of the very first of the modern French Resorts and in our view just about the best, for in achieving the efficiency and good planning for which the French are rightly famous, they have not sacrificed the atmosphere and ambiance. Indeed it is a great pleasure to be in Les Deux Alpes. Les Deux Alpes is a most exciting place to be in the evening, and there is a tremendous night life here with every imaginable facility. Our accommodation is right in the town at Le Soleil and the Des Neiges, both of which specialise in school groups and are comfortable, friendly and have excellent food. |
