Aprica is surrounded by unspoiled alpine landscapes that are protected areas under Italian law, and is one of the most popular holiday resorts in the region.

Situated on the pass which links Valtellina to Valcamonica, this modern little town, with more than 20,000 hotel and apartment beds, is a well-visited mountain resort both in winter and summer.

The ski area has a fantastic reputation and the resort has an excellent snow record and a first class ski school. A series of parallel drag and chairlifts extend from one end of the village to the other, serving the extensive nursery area and provides access to higher slopes.

One of the best ways up the mountain is the Palabione chairlift and gondola, which run parallel from the village centre taking skiers to the middle station at 1700m.
