Cortina d’Ampezzo is renowned throughout the world for its breathtaking scenery, first-class hotels, excellent amenities and leisure facilities. The nearest airport is located in Venezia, a threehour ride by car. Train stations of Calalzo di Cadore or Obbiaco/Toblach have very reliable bus connections to Cortina.

As host of the 1956 Winter Olympics, Cortina attained international recognition. It has four Dolomite mountain peaks, which shield Cortina while providing a world class ski area.

Cortina is known as the Pearl of the Dolomites, and is one of the top resorts in the Dolomiti Superski area. It is in a wide, bowl shaped valley surrounded by spectacular mountains whose slopes are guaranteed to be perfectly groomed from December to April. Cassiano and Corvara in the Dolomiti Superski area are easily reached from the Falzarego pass.
